The EuroPsy European Certificate of Psychology (Basic and Specialist in different modalities) can be applied for by any psychologist who has successfully completed an academic curriculum in Psychology of at least five years of full-time study (300 ECTS), and who also meets with the requirements that are collected in the specific sections dedicated to each of the types of certificate.

When checking whether the professional meets these criteria, it must be taken into account that within each type of certificate there may be different routes for the application, existing what is called the ordinary or training route and the expert veteran route. It is advisable to review both in cases where the application can be made through different channels or in two different ways to check which one best suits the applicant’s profile.

The EuroPsy standard requires a five year university education in psychology with a recognised curriculum, plus one year of supervised practice. It also implies a commitment to abide by the Code of Ethics, and to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The EuroPsy Certificate is valid for seven years, after which the holder undertakes revalidation to ensure current competence and  up-to-date knowledge.

Revalidation, or renewal of the certificate, requires that the psychologist has undertaken Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in order to demonstrate continued compentence.
